Two positions are open in the music department of First United Methodist Church of Grand Rapids. The Youth Choir director will work with 7 – 12 graders. The Faith Travelers Choir director will work with 3 – 6 graders. Applicants should have skills in music instruction and a love for music expression in worship. Rehearsal time follows church school on Sunday mornings from 10:25 – 10:55 am. Both positions are part-time paid position. The foundation is responsible for endowment development, investments, loans to churches and planned giving. The Executive Director reports to a 15-member board and currently supervises 3 part-time staff members: a Gift Planning Director, an Account Manager and an Administrative Assistant. The Executive Director is also responsible for an annual administrative budget of approximately $190,000. Primary revenue sources include: fees on managed funds, loan fund interest, trust distributions, board giving and a conference apportionment. The hours are Sundays from 10:30 to 12:30 and other hours as needed for special services. Duties include caring for the children, teaching bible stories and craft activities with the Junior Church instructor. The pay rate is $10.00 / hour.
