Register for summer camps now

Imagine a warm summer night, backlit by the soft glow of fireflies in the woods; illuminated by the glow of logs burning in a firebowl; and made holy by the reflected glow on children’s upturned faces and raised hands as they sing in unison, “How great is our God, sing with me, how great is our God…”
Camp changes lives for Christ! The ministry of Christian camping is one of our most effective outreach ministries, impacting young people at a most impressionable time in their lives. Our camping programs strive to introduce Christ as our Savior and to encourage faith-building. By combining spiritual learning with outdoor fun and social relationships, camp becomes an experiential opportunity that no child should miss.
So - it’s time to sign up for summer fun while growing in faith at one of our five West Michigan Conference camps. Four of our locations, Crystal Springs at Dowagiac; Wesley Woods at Dowling; Albright Park at Reed City; and Lake Michigan at Pentwater, have a great lineup of full-week and half-week events all summer long, for campers of all ages. Lakeview Campground, at Lakeview, offers tent and RV camping for individuals, families, and groups. Family camping is also available at Crystal Springs, Albright Park, and Lake Michigan Camps. Click on the Camping tab, above, to find out more.
The West Michigan Conference provides need-based scholarship funds for campers. We also encourage fund-raising for campers at the local church level. Camp is a mission and a ministry that supports and expands the making of disciples. More information on scholarships, rebates for first-time campers, and how to register, is available by clicking on the Camping tab directly above this article. For questions, you may contact Camp Registrar Pamela Stewart at 1-800-217-1905, or by emailing pstewart@wmcumc.org.
Also – when planning staff retreats or other day-long or overnight events, don’t overlook our West Michigan Conference campsites. All offer meeting and housing facilities for various sized groups, perfect for spiritual reflection and/or planning and teaching in a relaxed natural setting.
And finally – do you need an idea for your youth group’s mission trip, or for your small group’s service project? Think locally and volunteer for spring camp cleanup at any of our sites. For more information, contact:
