Family Systems Peer Groups

Family systems peer groups are about learning and practicing in a safe environment how to apply family systems theory to one’s own professional and personal life.  Peer groups meet monthly throughout the conference.

The typical format of these groups looks something like the following.

  •          Opening devotions/spiritual journeying by the host or group participant,
  •          1 hour or so of content
  •          1-2 case presentations by the participants who volunteer in advance.

The intent of case presentations is to give participants the benefit of being coached around their own functioning in a particular situation.  This coaching includes feedback through observations from the group.

Persons intending to participate in one of the family systems peer groups is strongly encouraged to have some prior exposure to Bowen family systems theory.  A workshop, seminar, lecture, book or video introduction are satisfactory.
