Haiti Task Force

The Michigan Area Haiti Task Force is a group of United Methodists from the Detroit and West Michigan Conferences who are active in promoting and supporting various projects and programs in the country of Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

These activities are governed by a partnership mission covenant between the Michigan Area of the United Methodist Church, UMCOR and the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas. The Eglise Methodist d'Haiti is considered the oldest Protestant Church in the country and is a conference of the MCCA (Methodist Church of the Caribbean and The Americas).

The Task Force is co-chaired by the Rev. David Morton (picture right), West Michigan Conference, and the Rev. Don Gotham , Detroit Conference.
